MULTISPEC ROLLER APPLICATION
OVER INTERIOR, VERTICAL FLAT SURFACES
(Interior Textured or Damaged Walls) 

Step 1/ Required or Optional - Depending on Surface to be Covered - Prep and Prime
Clean surface thoroughly. Using a short nap roller or brush, apply one coat of Multispec textured, adhesion promoting basecoat (SE1 White for Multispec WaterColors or SE2 Gray for Stone Accents). Basecoat improves Multispec rolling properties; particularly over smooth or previously painted surfaces. Textured/absorbent surfaces may not require basecoat.

Step 2 / Required – Apply Multispec
Using a Speckle Effects special open cell reticulated foam roller cover, roll Multispec over the basecoated surface. Load roller fully, roll slowly and gently to minimize spattering and achieve optimal coverage. Use a Speckle Effects 3” or corner roller to cut-in and paint corners.

Step 3 / Optional – Apply Clear Topcoat
Apply 2 to 3 coats of high performance, clear protective topcoat such as Plioshield^TM or Multispec MCT. First coat will seal Multispec to facilitate subsequent cleaning. Second and third coats will enhance durability and impart more gloss. MCT is available in gloss and low sheen.

Note

• Multispec will be easier to repair and touch-up if only one coat of clear topcoat is applied.
• When using Multispec WaterColors which do not contain white flecks, SE1 White Basecoat should be tinted to match predominant fleck color in WaterColors.
• Allow individual coats to dry thoroughly before recoating.
• Follow manufacturer’s label instructions and application guidelines for coatings, equipment and tools.
• For a smooth finish; spray apply Multispec. Refer to spray application guideline.
